Rachel Mabe is a writer and reporter. She is at work on a book about the existential agonies of growing up female in America. She’s finishing an MFA in creative nonfiction at the University of Pittsburgh, has a master’s degree in folklore from the University of North Carolina, and a bachelor’s degree in English and poetry from Bryn Mawr College.
